March = Castles

We began our study of castles by first finding out what the girls already know about castles.

Daisy: Sometimes, castles have to be rebuilt...
Georgia: There are flies in castles - in the dungeon.
Gretel: Guards always stay, to guard the castle.
Jordyn: The princess can call for people to bring her food.
Lani: Princesses get taught by their mother, before they can be a queen.
Madeleine: If the princess wants you to do something, you have to do it right away!
Naomi: They have to be BIG.
Noa: All royal people have to wear crowns.
Penelope: The throne room is full of chairs, for the king, the queen and the princess.
Quinn: There are lots of jewels in the crowns.
Rhea: Princesses have royal clothes.
Samya: When the Queen leaves, the flag has to go down and the guards stay.
Zoe: Castles are made out of stone.

Then I asked the girls what they would like to learn about castles, and here is what they said:

* The drawbrigde.
*Princesses, do they go to school?  What happens when they get in trouble...
*The dungeon.  (Nine people asked for more info on this dreary place.)
*The Queen.
*What kinds of food do they like to eat?

So, now we are going to do a little castle research!
