Did you hear what happened in KC recently? The girls all beautifully decorated small treasures boxes and I said I would leave a treasure for them inside. The boxes had to dry overnight and the next morning we discovered they were gone! In their place was a treasure map...
We had read the book, The Big Jump and other stories by Benjamin Elkin the day before, where we had read about the Bad King. And guess who had signed the bottom of the treasure map - the Bad King!
Luckily, we were able to follow the clues on the map and retrieve our treasure boxes, with their treasures (sparkly rings) inside, but we were not very pleased, so we wrote the Bad King a letter:
Dear Bad King,
Please don't take our treasure boxes again. We did not like it. Stop being mean! Please stop being greedy. Please do not take anyone's treasure, because they will not like it. We would like you to be nice to us. You need to respect what people have. Kings are supposed to help people, not take their things. Be nice to other people and then they will be nice back.

This a wonderful example of how our Second Steps program is succeeding in guiding the girls with how to handle social situations using words.
