We read many books about Martin Luther King, Jr. last week and we learned how he wanted everyone to be kind to one another. We thought about important ways to show kindness and then we documented our ideas in our journals.
Here our ideas on kindness:
Zoe: Helping someone take care of a dog is kind.
Sophie: Helping get a cat down (from a tree) is kind.
Sophia: Helping a friend who is hurt is kind.
Morgan: Finding a lost pet is kind.
Marley: Opening the door when someone's finger is stuck is kind.
Maisy: Asking a friend to play is kind.
Madison: Holding a friend's hand is kind.
Lillian: Helping someone get up is kind.
Lexi: A Dad saving his daughter (when she is swimming) is kind.
Joye: My Mom was kind when she helped my Dad.
Jade: Holding a friend's hand (when they are learning to ice skate) is kind.
Gianna: Helping someone get up is kind.
Evelyn: Helping someone get up is kind.
Bailey: Helping is kind.
Anabella: Helping someone when they are scared is kind.
Alexandra: Asking a friend to play is kind.
All of kindergarten teamed up to be kind and make breakfast bags for Meals on Wheels.
We decorated the bags and we decorated paper hearts!
Thanks to all the food donations, the girls were able to fill the bags with yummy breakfast foods.
Everyone helped each other.
We made 88 breakfast bags!
We ended the morning by singing songs celebrating Martin Luther King, Jr. and his dream for people to be kind to one another.
