* Animals in Winter
Mother Earth wrote us a letter and asked that each KC girl pick a Pennsylvania animal to become an expert on. The girls have picked out their animals, so now the research begins! We will spend January & February researching how their specific PA animals adapts to winter conditions. While we will be collecting information at school, we welcome further fact finding at home. The green research folder is for you to keep at home. Any questions? Please ask!
* Math
We have been doing mitten math! First we read Jan Brett’s version of The Mitten, then the girls drew the animals they wanted in their mitten and wrote an addition equation to tell how many animals were able to squeeze into that lost mitten!
* Language Arts
Our hand decorated snow girls and their mini biographies are now completed and on display! After creating a snow girl character, the girls then wrote about what their snow girl liked, did not like and what would happen when the weather turned warm… Come read about our snow girls!
* Computer Time
Using a list of our favorite winter words, we used the program Taxedo to generate word designs. Everyone made a very cool, personalized, snowflake shaped word design!
