We headed into the woods with Mrs. Szalay to follow the sent of the Peppermint Beetle!
We had to smell the trees to find out if the Peppermint Beetle had passed by.
Once we found a tree with a peppermint smell, we had to mark the tree with string.
We came to a fork in the path and we had to figure out which way to go!
We took the path to the left and headed down...
The Peppermint Beetle had lead us to the stream!
We wondered why the beetle had lead us to the stream -
and after much discussion, decided the beetle had been thirsty.

We may not have found the Peppermint Beetle, but we had fun following his trail!
