* Animals in Winter
Mother Earth wrote us a letter and asked that each KC girl pick a Pennsylvania animal to become an expert on. The girls have picked out their animals, so now the research begins! We will spend January & February researching how their specific PA animals adapts to winter conditions. (The girls will present 3 facts about their animal in March.) While we will be collecting information at school, we welcome further fact finding at home. The blue research folder is for you to keep at home. Any questions? Please ask!
* Math
We have been doing mitten math! First we read Jan Brett’s version of The Mitten, then the girls drew the animals they wanted in their mitten and wrote an addition equation to tell how many animals were able to squeeze into that lost mitten!
* Language Arts
Everyone designed a snow girl and then wrote a mini bioraphes to tell about her and to incorporate are word of the week. You may want to find out what these snow girls were named, what they like, what they do not like and what they plan to do he warm weather arrives...
* Computer Time
We go into the V2 computer lab in half groups. Our latest task was to write down winter words to create a snowflake made out of our words!
*MLK Day of Service: Monday, January 21st from 9am-11am
