Halloween Math

After we read How Many Snails? a counting book by Paul Giganti we knew we could make our own math stories!  We collaborated on the math creations, then we all looked at the posters together, did some counting and came up with the right answers!  You may want to do some counting too...

It was Halloween night.  Some scary bats were out enjoying giving everyone a fright!  As the bats flew through the glittery night, their eyes glowed with delight.

*Each bat had circle designs.  How many circle designs altogether?

*Each bat had two pointy ears to hear predators.  How many ears were listening for danger?

Under a full moon three witch friends gathered to swap stew recipes.  Each witch wore her best magical hat.  Each phat had the power star, to make the hat magical.

Some ghost friends had decided this year they would go trick or treating together.  All of the ghosts had their treat bags ready to be filled.  All the ghosts had on sparkly gems, their favorite necklaces and they wore feathers to be fancy.
