* Counting by 5’s
We can count by 5’s to 100! To demonstrate how to count by 5’s, we painted everyone hands - come see our handprint mural to find out how high we can count with classroom hands!

* Coins
We have been reviewing coins and their value. Everyone designed a stamp highlighting their winter animal and then had to decide upon a cost. The girls used coins stamps to illustrate how you might buy this stamp using the right amount of coins.


*Time
We have made timelines, about ourselves! We discussed how a clock can not help you talk about the past, the present or the future, but a timeline could. Our timelines have focus on four milestones, the baby and kindergarten times we knew, but we had to predict what we might be doing as teen-agers and grown-ups!


*Word Problems
The girls have all written, illustrated and solved their own addition word stories! We again relied on our winter animals to star as our theme and then created stories around them. These stories are now in our research folders at school - please feel free to find them in our folders and read them.

*Tally Marks
We used tally marks to record our points for the Jack & Annie quiz and we returned to this method of recoding when we reviewed the weather graph on the 100th Day of School. From the graph, we were able to extract and tally the number of sunny days, rainy days and cloudy days we had in 100 days of kindergarten.
