Ladybug Week!
This week we focused on Eric Carle's The Very Grouchy Ladybug. Right away we were able to talk about what it means to be grouchy and how this attitude did not help the the ladybug. The underlining theme of how to get along with others, allowed us to talk further about how and why it is so important to work together.
We have made Ladybug books! Our books identify and illustrate the four stages of the ladybug's life. Do you know all four stages? Your kindergartner can read you her book!
In Eric Carle's story the ladybug's day begins at 5am and on the hour she encounters other creatures, until 6pm when she realizes she does not have to be grouchy to get what she wants. The girls all did an excellent job making paper clocks and using them to tell the hour. Then we wrote about and illustrated what happens on the hour throughout our KC day. Come see how busy we are, our day is on display! We will be working with clocks throughout the year.
UPCOMING EVENT:
*Halloween Parade: Wednesday, October 31st.
Please come to school in your costume! We will change after the parade.
The week of October 22nd starts on Day 3.
